ng, objectification, and anticipatory service. She discovered the amazing Leather community in DFW after moving to Texas in 2007.  She has served as NLA Dallas Co-Chair and on the Beyond Vanilla committee.  In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for a multitude of runs, fundraisers, and events. Lex is also very proud and honored to provide her assistance to the NLA-Dallas’ Domestic Violence Project in the development of training materials and the on-site training of domestic violence service providers, to better identify and assist callers in the kink lifestyle. Lex has a BA in Anthropology with a focus on alternative sexual lifestyles.  She enjoys a good cigar while talking about Leather roots, where Leather is going and how it is changing, and obviously how these perceptions vary based on who you talk to.  She has a dream of collecting memorabilia and interviewing Leather men and women in an effort to further document DFW Leather culture.

Switching – Have your Cake and Eat it too!

Tops know they are tops and bottoms know they are bottoms.  But what if you find yourself looking at that flogger with a dual sense of longing?  To both give… and receive???

What does it mean when you want to be served by one person, but serve another person yourself?

Is it possible to be both?

Is it OKAY to be both?

In this two-part discussion we will discuss the pros and cons of this unique situation, to include the social stigma associated with being a “switch,” as well as the confusion it creates for potential play partners.

We will delve into how to effectively approach a switch for play and how to simply enjoy being a switch in a culture all too often defined by upper and lower case letters.

Kitty Play 101: Playful Pussies and the People that Pet Them

There is a wonderful dynamic between yourself and your pet. You cherish their beauty. You admire their spirit. You understand their driving need for your attention. And you revel in their absolute reliance on you. Let’s talk about how special this connection is for “the Owner.”

Your sleekness is defined by the very stroke of their hand on your fur. Your ears twitch eagerly for their next command. Your tail anxiously swishes as you anticipate their next swat. And you please your Owner in every way possible, just so you can finally curl into their lap and purr contentedly. Let’s take time to understand the motivations and needs of “the pet.”

Join me in exploring the dynamics of dominance and submission in pet play: discipline, bondage, humiliation, and more. As well as discussing the similarities and differences of Kitty Play with other forms of pet play.

Don’t forget to bring your kitty toys and make sure all ears and tails are purrrrfectly groomed!
